Intersting beer facts from Russia !!

I found this story on nationalpost.com ..........

This began to happen in July, 2011........

"This week, legislators rubber-stamped a new law that reclassifies beer as alcohol and limits when and where it can be sold. The new rules also extend to other drinks that have less than 10% alcohol by volume."

So what you are telling me, is that beer wasn't alcohol in Russia before July 21, 2011? Go Figure?

Apparently, Kids can pick up a can on the way to school. Men, the biggest consumers of this healthy beverage, stop for a drink before work. The beverage is popular year-round, being consumed outdoors even when the temperature is well below zero. Wow, this paradise really does exist!

Although beer is popular in Russia, it still does not even come close to Vodka. Per capita, one Russian will consume about 58 liters of beer in one calender year. (Czech - 158 liters per year). Alcohol consumption, vodka, gin, whiskey, is at an impressive 18-19 liters a year per person. (that's fourth in the world)

But beer lovers don’t have to worry too much yet. The new law doesn’t come into effect until Jan. 1, 2013.

Food for thought........
